Introduction

I don’t intend for this blog to box me in to one set niche, as a younger person I am still finding where I fit best in the world. There are many things I see day to day both in person and online that catch my attention. A lot of those things I want to try for the hell of it, because it seems like a fun challenge or the end result is badass. For example, I was scrolling on the Instagram a few days ago and came across a furniture maker doing wood bending using steam and glue to make functional furniture. Sure the aesthetic style was really unique and interesting, but I found the whole process more exciting.

The process of creating is what drives me to take one most of my projects. I don’t think I’m the only person out there like this. I know of plenty of people who watch countless YouTube videos of creators making random stuff with ZERO intention to recreate it. It’s just cool. The time, skill, effort and creativity has a tendency to pull you in like good movie.

I am by no means a skilled builder of anything, and it is pretty great! If a fun project comes to mind that involves a skill I have never practiced it means I get to dive into learning about that skill/subject and learn something new. Sometimes it also means I get to buy new tools, which is always a great experience. Taking on new projects or hobbies is also a great way to push myself out of my comfort zone, allowing me to grow more confident in all aspects of life. Lastly, I often end up meeting new people to call friends who are more experienced and interested in the same stuff.

As I document some of my life on this website, I hope to look back one day proudly that I stepped out of my shell to “put something in the world; that ain’t been there before.” -Shel Silverstein
